Our client seeks a Tactical Network Engineer to serve as the Hawaii focal point and subject matter expert supporting ATH, OTM, and SATCOM networks for defense stakeholders. The role will lead systems engineering, integration, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of tactical network systems while coordinating with program leadership and unit staff to align activities with mission objectives. The engineer will manage configurations and incidents, develop and present technical briefings, and provide oversight of SATCOM systems, baseband networking, and related software. The position will also coordinate across embedded support teams and unit stakeholders to plan, execute, and document network operations throughout the lifecycle.

Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities
- Serve as the Hawaii focal point and SME for ATH, OTM, and SATCOM tactical networks under PdM NetMod.
- Identify, document, and report problems to PM or functional managers and recommend resolutions.
- Manage and document system configurations, incidents, test procedures, and test results.
- Configure, validate, and test tactical network systems delivered to units.
- Exercise technical leadership to drive agreement on actions, schedules, and resolution of conflicting viewpoints.
- Coordinate system development tasks with system engineering leads to address integration challenges and new requirements.
- Provide systems engineering oversight for SATCOM systems, baseband networking equipment, and software development.
- Coordinate across embedded support teams to implement plans of action that achieve PM objectives.
- Represent our client at planning conferences with units and stakeholder organizations.
- Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to integrate operations and objectives.
- Develop and present briefings on systems engineering, network architecture planning, and test efforts.
- Support network planning, setup, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and teardown.
- Work closely with unit CFSRs, S6 staff, and other personnel to coordinate activities.
- Support occasional travel and an uncommon tour schedule as mission requires.
- Eight years of related tactical network engineering experience.
- Extensive experience designing, integrating, and maintaining tactical and strategic communication networks.
- Proven track record delivering high-quality network engineering solutions.
- Knowledge of network services such as DNS, DHCP, Mail, Active Directory, and SharePoint (preferred).
- Experience with PdM Network Modernization products (preferred).
- Specialized experience as an engineer in industry or within active, reserve, or National Guard units (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Testing, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, an additional seven years of related tactical network engineering experience may be substituted.
