Yakima Valley College is hiring part-time Tasting Room Attendants at the Teaching Wineries in Yakima and Grandview, Washington. The role requires highly motivated, enthusiastic staff to engage with our community. This position may work up to 69 hours per month and is not eligible for benefits. The position supports Tasting Room operations, ensuring a rich consumer experience, building consumer loyalty and reflecting the brand essence. Employees may be required to work special events with extended hours and a flexible schedule. This role also includes the opportunity to receive tips. The successful candidates must be quick learners who thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Responsibilities Prepare Tasting Room for daily openings and closings May work without direct supervision Present selected wines for tasting Assist consumers with their purchases Act as an informed resource for consumers regarding winemaking, winegrowing, wine vintages, availability of products, and brand awards/accolades Operate cash registers / POS System and credit card terminals accurately and efficiently Prepare food Follow sanitation protocol Be able to obtain MAST and Food Handlers Licenses Other duties as assigned Employment Information Those applicants invited to interview may be required to complete a skills test. Due to an emergency proclamation by the Governor, all employees will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment.
