Tax & Accounting is seeking a highly experienced Tax Manager to join our team in Colorado Springs, named one of the top ten best places to live in the United States by U.S. News & World Report. Key Responsibilities:

  • Sign, review, and prepare diversified, high-quality tax returns under the guidance of the Senior Tax Manager.
  • Identify tax-saving strategies for complex tax issues and recommend methods to improve client profitability.
  • Perform technical reviews of tax returns, work papers, and projects to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Interpret the U.S. Tax Code, research tax implications, and provide clients with expert advice on tax-related matters.
  • Communicate directly with clients, colleagues, management, and IRS representatives on tax-related issues.
  • Assist with business development efforts by meeting prospective clients, evaluating their needs, and fostering long-term relationships.
  • Supervise and mentor tax accountants, review work by junior associates, and provide guidance to help them achieve professional goals.
  • Advise management on the implications of tax liabilities, corporate strategies, and new tax laws.
  • Develop staff performance objectives, train team members, and motivate them to achieve excellence in assigned projects.

Qualifications:

Education & Certification:

  • CPA or EA certification (required).
  • MBA or BS in Accounting or Taxation (preferred).

Experience:

  • Extensive tax experience in corporate, partnership, and individual tax.
  • Background in public accounting firms.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient with tax software such as Lacerte, CCH, SurePrep, GruntWorkx, and QuickBooks.
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills.
  • Collaborative and patient approach to team mentorship.
