Now Hiring: Tax Manager – Real Estate Focus

Location: Woodbury, NY

Compensation: $140,000 – $160,000


A respected mid-sized public accounting firm is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Tax Manager with a strong focus on real estate taxation, including residential, commercial, industrial, land, and special-purpose properties.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage tax engagements from planning through delivery, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met
  • Develop a strong understanding of clients’ businesses and industry needs
  • Prepare, review, and manage staff deliverables, including tax returns, extensions, tax planning calculations, and write-up work for various entity types
  • Prepare and review complex tax planning projections for both individuals and entities
  • Monitor client deliverables and filing deadlines
  • Prepare and review complex U.S., multi-state, and international income tax returns for business entities, including consolidated and non-consolidated C corporations, S corporations, and partnerships
  • Conduct complex tax research and prepare memoranda outlining findings and conclusions
  • Communicate with the IRS and state agencies regarding audits, notices, and other tax matters on behalf of clients
  • Delegate projects effectively to staff and provide technical guidance as needed
  • Communicate directly with clients, colleagues, leadership, and tax authorities regarding various tax matters
  • Support business development efforts, including meeting with prospective and existing clients, preparing fee quotes and proposals, and assessing client needs
  • Demonstrate leadership in tax software, processes, and workflow improvements
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members
  • Participate in consulting engagements and special projects as requested by leadership or clients



Qualifications

  • CPA or EA required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
  • 7+ years of public accounting experience
  • Strong background in individual, corporate, and partnership taxation
  • Real estate tax experience strongly preferred
