- First Interview:
- Conducted via Zoom with video on (45 minutes).
- Purpose: Mutual understanding between the candidate and the firm.
- Second Interview:
- Conducted in person at the Oakbrook Terrace office (60 minutes).
- Includes technical questions to assess expertise and comfort with client scenarios.
- Post-interview:
- Completion of employment application and submission of three references.
- Supervise and manage income tax return compliance engagements.
- Provide tax planning services to clients, ensuring adherence to recent tax laws.
- Work collaboratively on complex trusts and estate tax matters.
- Mentor and train junior staff to foster their professional development.
- Work Hours:
- 55+ hours/week during busy seasons (January April 15, August October 15).
- 40 50 hours/week outside busy seasons. Target billable hours: 1,675 annually.
- Work Location:
- Full-time, in-office role based in Oakbrook Terrace, IL.
- Hybrid flexibility available (outside busy season) for candidates with 8+ years of experience.
- Client Focus:
- Willingness to serve clients and grow professionally.
- Ability to travel to client sites within the Chicagoland area as needed.
- CPA certification with a minimum of 8 years of public accounting experience in preparing/reviewing income tax returns.
- Comprehensive knowledge of recent Federal tax laws, including those for individuals, profit and not-for-profit businesses, and complex trusts/estates.
- Recent (2022 or later) experience in public accounting within a CPA firm.
- Strong foundational knowledge in basic tax and accounting services.
- Up-to-date understanding of tax laws, regulations, and accounting pronouncements (2018 onward).
- Ability to manage both tax compliance and consulting projects.
- Expertise in individual and business tax matters (preferred but not required).
- Comfort with handling assurance-related projects.
