Overview:

The Medical Assistant works as an essential part of our healthcare team, primarily assisting in providing patient care and ensuring the seamless operation of our clinic. This role involves a broad range of clinical and administrative tasks, all crucial in maintaining efficient patient flow and quality care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare professionals in the examination and treatment of patients by performing a variety of clinical tasks including recording vital signs, documenting patient information, and preparing patients for examination.
  • Carry out EKGs and other basic procedures under the supervision and direction of the providers.
  • Assist with the administration of medication and immunizations, as well as basic first aid.
  • Facilitate seamless patient flow by coordinating with other healthcare professionals in the unit and scheduling patient appointments.
  • Keep track of and maintain medical supplies inventory.
  • Provide top-quality patient service, including answering patient inquiries, addressing their concerns, and making them feel comfortable and well-informed.
  • Comply with all medical legal requirements such as HIPAA and maintain absolute confidentiality regarding patient information.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies for pre-authorizations and follow operational standards and safety regulations.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed, including maintaining and updating patient records, billing, and conducting follow-ups.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Medical Assistant.
  • Completion of a certified Medical Assistant program (0r at least 1-2 years of experience as a MA)
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record systems.
  • Basic understanding of insurance billing and coding practices.
