Overview
This role sits at the intersection of advanced tax compliance, tax advisory services, and multi-generational wealth planning. As a Tax Senior Manager within our High-Net-Worth practice, you will serve as a trusted advisor to individuals and families navigating complex individual income tax, fiduciary tax, gift tax, and estate tax matters.
You will lead sophisticated engagements that extend beyond return preparation into proactive estate planning, wealth transfer strategy, income tax optimization, and business succession planning. This is a hands-on leadership role designed for a seasoned tax professional who thrives on both technical depth and high-level client advisory relationships.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

Prepare and review highly complex federal and state tax returns, including individual (Form 1040), fiduciary (Form 1041), estate (Form 706), gift (Form 709), partnership (Form 1065), corporate (Form 1120/1120S), and nonprofit filings

Lead full-cycle tax compliance and tax planning engagements with a focus on accuracy, risk management, and regulatory compliance

Evaluate tax positions across individuals, trusts, and estates to identify wealth preservation, income distribution, and estate tax minimization strategies

Design and implement wealth transition planning strategies, including cash flow analysis, succession planning, charitable giving strategies, and estate preservation structures

Interpret and apply estate planning documents, trust agreements, and business succession documents to align tax strategy with legal intent

Conduct and document advanced technical tax research related to individual taxation, fiduciary taxation, and wealth transfer tax law

Oversee engagement workflow, delegate effectively, and ensure adherence to quality control standards and internal review procedures

Mentor Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates, supporting professional development, technical training, and performance management

Proactively manage client relationship strategy, identifying additional advisory opportunities and delivering value-added solutions

Support business development initiatives, including proposal development, referral cultivation, networking, and industry participation
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
-
Active CPA license or JD required

7+ years of public accounting experience with emphasis on high-net-worth tax compliance and estate planning services

Deep technical expertise in individual income tax, fiduciary taxation, estate and gift tax, and IRS regulatory compliance

Strong working knowledge of flow-through entity taxation (partnerships and S corporations)

Exposure to private foundations and nonprofit tax compliance preferred

Demonstrated leadership experience in engagement management, team supervision, and client advisory services

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and tax research skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax concepts into clear, strategic guidance

Proven ability to cultivate long-term client relationships and contribute to practice growth
