As our Transactional Tax Intern, you will be involved in reviewing tax transactions related to the utility (retail power/gas) markets, including Sales/Use, Gross Receipts, and Utility User Tax. The hybrid schedule will be based at our Houston, TX office, and you will report directly to the Tax manager. The internship work term will be September 7, 2026 to December 31, 2026, part-time 20 hours per week minimum. What You Will Do Transaction analysis, general ledger review Commercial implications as it relates to exemptions Tax research pertaining to contracts and taxing jurisdiction Assist in preparation of journal entries and tax filings What You’ll Bring You are currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing a degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field An understanding of basic accounting principles: journal entries, debits/credits, account reconciliation and general ledger Working experience in Excel Analytical skills and demonstrated expertise in developing and utilizing detailed Excel files Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies Compensation Hourly Range: $22.50 to $32.50 USD hourly This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
