Job Description
Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support students with moderate to severe behavioral or autism-related needs in a dynamic educational setting during the Extended School Year (ESY) program in Levittown, PA. This temporary paraprofessional role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact from June 24, 2025, through July 30, 2026, working Monday through Thursday at locations within a reasonable commute.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group instructional support to students exhibiting moderate to severe behavior and autism spectrum disorders, incorporating ABA interventions.
- Assist with behavioral management, including responding to behaviors such as hitting, spitting, biting, punching, throwing, and eloping.
- Support toileting and diapering as needed; perform some lifting consistent with student needs.
- Collaborate with educators and other paraprofessionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Participate in orientation and training sessions prior to the instructional period.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a paraprofessional supporting students with moderate-severe behavioral or autism-related needs.
- Must meet at least one Pennsylvania paraprofessional qualification: 48 college credits, associate degree or higher, Credential of Competency, or CDA.
- Candidates without current qualifications must complete a 7-module certification and submit the credential application within 60 days of hire.
- Reliable transportation with residence within 35 minutes of the assigned school site.
- Ability to commit fully to the ESY schedule, including orientation and instructional days.
- Comfortable managing challenging behaviors and physical aspects of the role.
