Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Support the success of middle school students with life skills by serving as a paraprofessional in a classroom setting located in Gettysburg, PA. This contract position runs ASAP through May 29, 2026, offering up to 37.5 hours per week in a school environment focused on special education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing instructional programs for students with diverse learning needs in a life skills classroom
  • Provide individualized support to students to promote academic, social, and functional skills development
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and staff to adapt materials and activities
  • Monitor student progress and participate in team meetings and documentation
  • Ensure a supportive and safe learning environment

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must meet at least one Pennsylvania paraprofessional qualification: Completed two years of post-secondary study (48 college credits) verified via transcript, OR
    Hold an associate degree or higher verified by official degree, OR
    Hold a CDA certificate or PDE Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators in PA
  • If not already qualified, complete PaTTANs seven-module certification process by start date and submit application to DOE within 60 days of hire
  • Present one completed para role supervisor reference check scoring 3.5 or higher
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams and support diverse learners
