Job Description
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a licensed Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to provide specialized educational support within K-12 settings in the northern Nashville area. This full-time, contract position requires on-site work and offers engagement with a diverse student caseload across multiple schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, addressing individual needs from kindergarten through 12th grade.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement effective educational programming.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting services as required.
- Maintain compliance with state education standards and district policies.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Tennessee Department of Education certification for teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
- Ability to manage a caseload ranging from early elementary to high school students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and school personnel.
- Willingness to complete fingerprinting and a background check as part of credentialing requirements.
- Previous experience working in school settings preferred but new professionals with 0-2 years experience are encouraged to apply.
Work Details:
- Location: Northern suburbs of Nashville, Tennessee.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Assignment Duration: Immediate start through May 20, 2026.
- Number of schools assigned will vary based on workload and student needs.
