Job Description

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a licensed Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to provide specialized educational support within K-12 settings in the northern Nashville area. This full-time, contract position requires on-site work and offers engagement with a diverse student caseload across multiple schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, addressing individual needs from kindergarten through 12th grade.
  • Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement effective educational programming.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting services as required.
  • Maintain compliance with state education standards and district policies.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Tennessee Department of Education certification for teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students.
  • Ability to manage a caseload ranging from early elementary to high school students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and school personnel.
  • Willingness to complete fingerprinting and a background check as part of credentialing requirements.
  • Previous experience working in school settings preferred but new professionals with 0-2 years experience are encouraged to apply.

Work Details:

  • Location: Northern suburbs of Nashville, Tennessee.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Assignment Duration: Immediate start through May 20, 2026.
  • Number of schools assigned will vary based on workload and student needs.
