Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school district in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for a contract position beginning August 11, 2026, through June 2, 2027. This itinerant role supports students from early childhood through transition, providing primarily consultative services across multiple schools in the Richmond area.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and specialists to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Provide consultative services districtwide to ensure accessibility and effective communication for students.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and district policies regarding Deaf/Hard of Hearing services.
Qualifications:
- Valid Deaf/Hard of Hearing teaching credential.
- California Teaching Credential (CTC) required.
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in school settings.
- Strong consultative and collaborative skills.
- Ability to travel to multiple school sites within the district.
Location: On-site in San Francisco, CA (primarily Richmond district schools).
