Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Seeking an experienced Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing for contract opportunities, both local and travel, based in Pickerington, OH. This role is ideal for educators dedicated to supporting students with hearing impairments in a school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' specific needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, and other professionals to enhance learning outcomes
- Utilize assistive technology and communication strategies to facilitate student engagement
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly
- Participate in team meetings and parent conferences to ensure holistic student support
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education
- Proven experience working with students who have hearing impairments
- Strong knowledge of communication methods, including sign language and auditory-verbal techniques
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team setting
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility to take on travel or local contracts
