Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Current, active Tennessee DHH (Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing) license
- Previous experience in a school setting is advantageous but not required
- Familiarity with virtual learning platforms and best practices for remote instruction
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to tailor instruction and support to diverse needs and grade levels
- Comfortable collaborating with teachers, staff, and families in a virtual environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support services remotely to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Support inclusion by consulting with general education teachers and staff virtually
- Develop and implement individualized education and communication plans
- Adapt curriculum materials and resources to fit each student's needs
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and engagement
- Attend virtual meetings, team collaborations, and professional development
This is a district-wide VOCO (virtual) assignment running full-time (7.5 hours per day, 5 days a week) for the 2026-2027 school year. Annual contracts are created for each placement, ensuring a tailored and dynamic experience. Compensation for this role reflects your experience and ranges from $38 to $50 per hour.
