Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A specialized teaching position is available for an experienced educator skilled in supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This role is based in Aurora, CO, within a well-established educational institution and follows a contract schedule. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in delivering tailored instruction and fostering an inclusive learning environment that addresses the unique needs of hearing-impaired students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Utilize specialized teaching techniques and assistive technology to enhance communication and learning
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, speech therapists, and families to ensure comprehensive student support
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of school-wide programs supporting hearing-impaired students
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and legal requirements related to Deaf education

Desired Qualifications:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Experience working with school-aged children in inclusive or specialized educational settings
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication methods used by Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
• Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to working with educators, specialists, and families
• Ability to create a positive and supportive classroom environment tailored to diverse learning needs
