Job Description
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A part-time opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Visually Impaired to conduct a one-time evaluation for an inclusion-based elementary student. This position requires onsite presence and involves performing a comprehensive assessment followed by participation in an Individualized Education Program (IEP) meeting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a thorough evaluation for one elementary student with visual impairments.
- Attend and actively contribute to the IEP meeting to support educational planning.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and support strategies.
- Complete all duties onsite in compliance with school policies and protocols.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Massachusetts certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
- Proven experience working in school-based settings, particularly with visually impaired students.
- Ability to perform evaluations and assessments with attention to detail and adherence to state guidelines.
- Must successfully pass a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) check and fingerprinting process.
