Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school district in Pearland, TX is seeking a Visually Impaired Teacher to provide specialized instructional services on an itinerant basis. This contract position involves managing a caseload across multiple school sites within the district, delivering expert support to students with visual impairments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in various school settings
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to support student success
- Carry out assessments and monitor student progress regularly
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation for compliance and reporting
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in visual impairment or related field
- Experience working with students with visual impairments in school environments
- Ability to manage caseload independently across multiple locations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Work Schedule and Location:
- Position is based in Pearland, Texas
- Itinerant role working across district schools
- 32.5 hours per week
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly rate between $44.31 and $52.14, dependent on experience
