Job Description
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time contract opportunity is available for a licensed Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide itinerant services across multiple schools serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade. This role is based in the Houston, TX area and involves working Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with part-time candidates also considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students across various campuses.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Adapt educational materials and techniques to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Travel between assigned schools within the district to provide consistent itinerant services.
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification.
- Experience working with K-12 visually impaired students in an educational setting.
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively while providing individualized instruction.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and students.
Location: Houston, TX (servicing multiple schools in the Northwest and City Center areas)
