JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Department of Children and Families, Office of Education has an immediate need for a Teacher of English at the Cape May Campus located in Cape May Court House, NJ.

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Educational Programs or Assistant Supervisor of Educational Programs, the Teacher plans, executes and evaluates the lessons and educational experiences of the assigned pupils, class or classes. Performs these duties exercising independent judgement and with a comprehensive knowledge of department rules, regulations and policies; does other related duties as required.

Please note that schools within OOE have a 12-month school year.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Requires possession of a valid standard teacher certification or valid Certificate of Eligibility (CE) or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) as a Secondary Level Teacher of English issued by the NJ Department of Education.

SPECIAL NOTE: Ability to physically lift, move and position students as needed.

SPECIAL NOTE: Experience teaching special needs and/or at-risk students is preferred.

LICENSE: Possession of valid Standard Certificate issued by the State Board of Examiners of the New Jersey Department of Education with an endorsement in subject area(s) determined appropriate by the Appointing Authority.

PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS: As a prospective employee of the State of New Jersey, you may be eligible for federal loan forgiveness programs and state repayment assistance programs. For more information, please visit the U.S. Department of Educations website at StudentAid.gov/PSLF.

LICENSE: Appointee will be required to possess a drivers license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
