POSITION SUMMARY

Springboard to Learning is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teaching Artist Program Specialist to develop valued relationships with community stakeholders to grow our programs/projects with target groups. As a Teaching Artist Program Specialist, you will be the main point of contact between the organization and the clients Springboard serves at the school and district level, including classroom teachers, curriculum specialists, administrators, and coordinators at community venues. You will also work closely with the program and marketing teams to develop and implement outreach strategies to promote Springboards mission and vision and raise awareness and engagement in our initiatives/projects/programs, meeting earned revenue goals. The Teaching Artist Program Specialist also manages volunteer engagement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and implement outreach strategies aimed at increasing community awareness and engagement in Springboard to Learnings programs/projects.
  • Forge new and maintain existing relationships with community stakeholders.
  • Execute marketing demonstrations of programs to vendors using individual artistic discipline.
  • Serve as a substitute for scheduled Teaching Artists when necessary.
  • Assist with the program evaluation system, distributing and collecting evaluation feedback then using feedback to aid in program improvement.
  • Coordinate the Arts and Learning Packs project, creating additional hands-on art Packs, managing volunteer Packs assembly and Packs distribution.
  • Assist the program team with the recruitment and screening of new teaching artists.
  • Coordinate volunteer engagement for special events.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelors degree in education or art related discipline preferred; comparable experience considered.
  • Expertise in music, dance, visual or performing arts.
  • Experience in lesson design preferred.
  • Competence in classroom management preferred.
  • Passion for arts-integrated educational programming preferred.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with vendors and volunteers.
  • Results oriented.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to work effectively using a PC.
  • Ability to drive.

This position offers the ability to work remotely when in-office presence is not required. This position offers flexibility regarding specific days and hours worked during the normal business week.
