Job Description

True Axis Recruiting is partnering with a respected company in the specialty chemicals industry seeking a Technical Account Manager to support paper mill accounts in the Waterville, Maine area. This is a strong opportunity for a technically skilled, customer-facing professional with deep experience in pulp and paper specialty chemical solutions, technical support, and strategic account development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for paper mill customers
  • Build strong customer relationships and provide trusted technical support
  • Offer strategic recommendations to improve product performance and customer operations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical and product-related issues quickly
  • Conduct on-site testing, evaluations, and performance reviews
  • Partner with sales leadership on account strategy and opportunity development
  • Lead technical check-ins and support business reviews with customers
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Service, R&D, and Portfolio Management
  • Document customer visits, findings, and opportunities in CRM
  • Maintain regular customer site presence to support service, retention, and growth


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in paper and pulp specialty chemical solutions, technical support, and account management
  • Strong knowledge of paper mill operations and chemical applications
  • Proven ability to solve technical challenges and improve customer processes
  • Excellent relationship-building and customer service skills
  • Experience with on-site technical/mechanical testing
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and analytical tools
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, including overnight travel


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Paper Science, or a related field preferred
