Position Summary

The Account Manager will be responsible for managing and growing customer relationships within the commercial printing, packaging, and converting sectors. This role focuses on selling ink solutions for lithographic, offset, and flexographic printing applications. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of ink systems, understands print production environments, and excels at building long term partnerships with printers, converters, and packaging manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities Account Management & Customer Support
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts in the litho, offset, and flexo printing markets.
  • Build strong, trust based relationships with production managers, press operators, purchasing teams, and plant leadership.
  • Conduct regular onsite visits to understand customer needs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure ink performance meets expectations.
  • Provide technical support related to ink behavior, color matching, press performance, and substrate compatibility.
  • Manage customer expectations, resolve concerns, and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
Sales Growth & Business Development
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and across the regional market.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to increase ink sales and expand product penetration.
  • Prospect and secure new customers in commercial print, packaging, labels, and specialty applications.
  • Prepare and deliver product presentations, demonstrations, and value based proposals.
  • Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
Technical Expertise Litho, Offset & Flexo
  • Maintain deep knowledge of ink formulations, pressroom chemistry, and printing processes.
  • Support customers with ink trials, press optimization, and troubleshooting print defects.
  • Collaborate with R&D and technical service teams to address custom ink needs or performance challenges.
  • Stay current on industry trends, substrates, coatings, and emerging technologies in the print and packaging sectors.
Account Planning & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and activity reports.
  • Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and customer trends to inform strategy.
  • Provide feedback to internal teams on product performance, customer needs, and opportunities for innovation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Chemistry, Graphic Communications, or related field preferred.
  • 3 7 years of experience in the ink, coatings, printing, or packaging industry.
  • Strong understanding of lithographic, offset, and flexographic printing processes.
  • Proven track record in account management or technical sales.
  • Ability to troubleshoot pressroom issues and communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Excellent relationship building, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Self motivated, organized, and comfortable managing a regional territory.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
