Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Accounting Manager to lead complex accounting matters, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support strategic financial initiatives. This role will serve as a subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP and international accounting standards, providing guidance on technical accounting issues, global financial reporting, and policy development across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research, interpret, and implement U.S. GAAP and IFRS for complex and cross-border transactions, including revenue recognition, leases, business combinations, and foreign currency matters
  • Draft and maintain technical accounting memos, global accounting policies, and position papers to support audit and compliance requirements
  • Oversee preparation and review of consolidated financial statements and international disclosures
  • Partner with FP&A, tax, legal, and regional finance teams to evaluate accounting implications of global transactions, intercompany activities, and new market expansion
  • Lead accounting for mergers & acquisitions, including purchase accounting for domestic and international entities and post-deal integration
  • Manage global audit processes and act as primary liaison with external auditors across multiple jurisdictions
  • Monitor and implement new accounting pronouncements (U.S. GAAP and IFRS) and ensure timely global adoption
  • Support and enhance internal controls, including SOX compliance and alignment with international subsidiaries
  • Oversee accounting for foreign currency transactions, translations, and hedging activities
  • Provide training and guidance to global accounting teams on technical accounting topics and policy updates

Qualifications

  • Active CPA license required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5–8+ years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or industry (Big 4 or national firm experience strongly preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS, including multinational reporting requirements
  • Experience working with international subsidiaries, consolidations, and intercompany transactions
  • Strong analytical, research, and technical documentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work across global teams and cultures

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a multinational, multi-entity environment
  • Exposure to global ERP systems and financial reporting tools
  • Knowledge of foreign currency accounting and international tax considerations (in partnership with tax teams)
  • Strong project management and process improvement capabilities
