Job Title: Java Technical Architect Job Location: 140 E. 300 S,Salt Lake City, Utah, 84114-1061 Duration: 6+ Months Tentative interview dates: 11/21 and 11/22 Note: Utah residents only. Remote work available but resource will be required to be onsite in office weekly. 10% onsite/90% remote work DRUG TESTING REQUIRED-HireRight 10 panel drug tests Scoring: 35%-Duration and depth of design experience with a large and complex system platform. 25%-Duration and depth of experience with Java 8.x+, Spring Boot, Hibernate, ORM, Spring Cloud, etc. 20%-Experience with governmental agencies especially working with Medicaid, SNAP, or financial assistance benefits. 20%-Rate In the event of a tie in the total score between candidates in the top/winning positions, the technical score will be calculated (sans the cost factor), and the highest technical scorer of the tied candidates will be awarded the position. Should this method fail to yield an ultimate "winner," the candidates will be asked to participate in a best and final offer process. The amount listed on this scope of work is a current project budget. Additional funding can be added by the requesting agency by amendment to the scope of work. Contractors must not allow work to continue that will cost more than the allowed budget without an amendment first being approved. The position/project duration listed on the scope of work may be extended by the requesting agency by amendment to the scope of work for a time period up to a total of 5 years. This is a hands-on role that requires significant technical experience in various technologies and ability to design, prototype and demonstrate the technical solution to various stakeholders. Responsibilities [ What you will Do] Designing and Developing Scalable Architectural Systems involving Java, Microservices, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Services. Demonstrable experience in defining a RESTful service-based architecture for new business capabilities. Experience in defining new architectures and ability to drive an independent project from an architectural standpoint. Improves architecture by tracking emerging technologies and evaluating their applicability to business goals and operational requirements. Meeting with technology managers and the Product team to discuss the goals and needs of an organisation Work with solutions engineers to understand the customer's unique business challenges and conduct architecture and solutioning workshops. Develop technical integration approaches, including data flow and architectural diagrams. Develop customized presentations, demonstrations, and prototypes to prove the solution's business value to the customer. Focus on the end customer experience while making sure your designs are resilient. Provide technical leadership to the engineering teams Analyse current solution designs to optimize and provide design improvements to handle the growth of the business. Coordinate with the business teams to identify future needs and requirements Use a proactive approach to common challenges and by continually researching best practices in coding Troubleshoot coding problems quickly and efficiently to ensure a productive workplace Mentor development teams and resolve complex technical challenges Expert ability to handle complex issues and possess analytical and problem-solving skills Who You Are You are an architect with experience working in Large and complex platform. You are customer focused and understand the architectural fundamentals for cloud-native solutions, preferably in AWS. You have a passion for large and complex platforms and how to optimize your customers' experience. A technical mindset with great attention to detail. You understand how to use modern development methodologies which should meet business improvement. Critical Problem Solver, Thinker and must be a Doer and not afraid of asking questions. Primary Qualification 10+ Years of Hands-On Experience in Java 8.x+, Spring Boot, Hibernate 5+, ORM, Spring Cloud, Spring Batch and Scheduler's. 5+ Years of experience in designing and Architecting Large and Complex Platform. 5+ Years of experience in designing and developing API [ Producer and Consumer] Based Microservice applications. 3+ Years of experience in designing and developing Event / Stream Based solutions using KAFKA, RabbitMQ or any Message Broker. 3+ Years of experience in designing and developing solution using NOSQL database preferably Mongo DB. Secondary Qualification Experience working in Medicaid, SNAP or Financial System. Prior experience in government or with government agencies is preferred Worked on integration projects using BPM and Rules Engine Preferably DROOLS. 10+ Years of Hands-On Software/System Development experience with 5+ of that being in an architectural role. 5+ years of experience with Java 8.x+, Spring Boot, Hibernate, ORM, Spring Cloud, etc. Design experience with a large and complex system platform. Microservice-based applications are a plus. Event / Stream-based solutions design with KAFKA, RabbitMQ, or another message broker is a plus. Solution design using NoSQL database, especially Mongo DB a plus. Duration and extent of experience with governmental agencies especially working with Medicaid, SNAP, or financial assistance benefits.
