This position is for the E Shift (3‑2‑2‑3, 8 am‑8 pm EST). Responsibilities Operating, optimizing, and maintaining assigned production equipment Meeting and exceeding production standards while maintaining product quality Minimizing and preventing equipment downtime and sustaining budgeted waste levels Maintaining accurate equipment logs and recording downtime and maintenance problems Performing preventative maintenance on equipment Starting up equipment and ensuring accurate functioning Monitoring component inventories and safety guards Maintaining a neat and orderly production environment Monitoring in‑process quality and addressing issues as needed Performing required Q.C. checks and process challenges Following safety and environmental procedures and Quality System Requirements Supporting upstream and downstream operations Performing rework as required Working optimally in a team environment Additional Responsibilities Performing other duties as assigned by Supervisor Qualifications Education and Experience High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred or equivalent experience Mechanical proficiency required Maintenance, repair, or mechanical manufacturing experience desired 2 years of mechanical experience preferred 6‑12 months manufacturing experience desired Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics required; knowledge of PLCs desired Knowledge of automated processes/machinery required Proficiency with basic hand tools Familiarity with mechanical components such as bushings, chain drives, conveyors, gearboxes, and ball valves Familiarity with electrical components such as photo‑eyes, scales, reed switches, and VFDs Ability to work autonomously and be self‑motivated Clear and legible handwriting Ability to work any shift, including night shifts Work Environment BD is a smoke‑free campus. Smoking and the use of electronic smoking devices, marijuana, or tobacco products are not allowed on BD property, grounds or in the parking areas. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this policy. False eyelashes, press‑on fingernails, and jewelry are not allowed on the production floor including dermals. Any associate wearing dermals will be required to cover them while working on the production floor. Shoes are required to be steel‑toe and non‑slip for all associates while on the production floor for safety purposes.
