We are working with a growing, multi-disciplinary MEP consultancy that is expanding its Mission Critical capability across the UK and Europe. They are now seeking a senior Electrical Technical Director to lead, shape, and grow their Mission Critical offering, with a particular focus on data centre delivery.This is a leadership role for an experienced electrical engineer with deep data centre design expertise, strong commercial awareness, and the credibility to operate at board and client level. The role combines technical leadership, team development, and strategic growth within a high-performing engineering environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and grow the Mission Critical electrical team, including capability development and headcount growth aligned to revenueAct as a senior technical authority across complex data centre projects from concept through detailed designOversee delivery to ensure client satisfaction, technical quality, and commercial performanceProvide technical leadership across MV/LV distribution, substations, UPS, generators, and critical systemsReview and sign off electrical designs and technical outputs across the portfolioSupport fee proposals, bids, and commercial negotiationsRepresent the business at industry events, client meetings, and sector forumsMentor and develop senior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of engineering excellenceWork closely with the Board Director on strategy, business development, and client relationshipsReport on Mission Critical performance, risk, and growth to the boardCandidate ProfileDegree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services EngineeringChartered Engineer with CIBSE, IET, or equivalent and Engineering Council registration10+ years experience delivering electrical design within the data centre or Mission Critical sectorStrong understanding of redundancy, resilience, and data centre tiering systemsExperience across hyperscale, colocation, and edge data centre environmentsProven background in UK consultancy environmentsCommercially astute with experience managing budgets, fees, and project riskConfident communicator with the presence to operate at senior client and board levelThis is an opportunity to take a genuine leadership role in a growing Mission Critical business, with influence over technical direction, team growth, and sector strategy.
