Technical Engineer (Contract Manufacturing) Apply
The contract manufacturing (RoW) Technical engineer plays a key role in managing the relationship with contract manufacturers on a day-to-day basis. This position supports ASMPT CM manager and works closely with CM partners to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely delivery targets. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, resolving technical issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives.Roles & ResponsibilitiesProject Management: Coordinate across various internal and external stakeholders to align and review technical support efforts, ensuring the achievement of desired outcomes.Supplier Relationship Management: Foster and maintain strong relationships with CM partners, serving as the primary technical support contact during line setup.Operational & Engineering Support: Assist in production line setup, troubleshoot issue, and Manage Engineering Change Management Process.Qualification: Collaborate with CM managers to implement a stringent qualification plan with QA for CMs, focusing on test methodology, process transfer, and compliance with ASMPT’s standards (including training, copy-exact transfer, FAI, and PPAP).Continuous Improvement: Actively contributes to improving the testing process, tools, and frameworks to increase test coverage and efficiency.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in equipment architecture design, system integration, and manufacturing (operations & testing) is preferred.Strong proficiency in electrical and test engineering fundamentals, including equipment design, process and test engineering, and a solid understanding of PCBA schematics, cable & pneumatic drawings, test plans, and specifications.Project/Program Management skills with the ability to coordinate and facilitate internal and external functions to achieve key objectives such as Continuous Improvement Projects (CIP), cost efficiency, engineering change management, and tester setup.Ability to troubleshoot and debug all equipment subsystems, including servo, mechanical, read/write, electronics, controller firmware, and factory test processes.Fluency in English & Mandarin is required to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking associates.Willingness to travel within Southeast Asia and East Asia, including visits to Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and other international locations as needed.
