Career Area Engineering Job Description The Service Technology Solutions Division is seeking a program manager to drive the continued development of Local Service solutions, specifically Local Service on Cat AirConnect (also known as Portable ET). Caterpillar and Cat dealers provide customers with excellent technology offerings and premium service. Depending on the product configuration and service choices, Portable ET empowers them with a suite of capabilities including local wireless software updates, diagnostics, and service tests. Responsibilities Ensure that the team consistently receives feedback from leadership, the business team, and customers to prioritize new features and improvements Negotiate team deliverable commitment versus NPI request Build strong relationships with peers in cross‑functional teams Collaborate with NPI teams and shareholders to obtain Product Vision, Strategy & Product Roadmap Serve as liaison between the NPI Technical team and Delivery teams Work with the NPI Tech leader to document features with detailed use cases, capabilities and functional requirements Work with product architects to break high‑level requirements down into clear, achievable features that drive customer value Apply Agile principles to slice features for prioritizing work by value Demonstrate feature deliverables to stakeholders Manage product backlogs for multiple development teams Coordinate with businesses, sales, marketing, and platform groups to manage resources for each deliverable within the project Oversee project progress and costs; communicate status with stakeholders, participate in functional areas, and address and resolve problems Influence project staffing; motivate and develop project team members Communicate with customers and manage expectations; ensure effective use of project controls and reporting mechanisms What You Will Have Strong communication skills: understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to transmit, receive and accurately interpret ideas, information and needs Teamwork: experience in working cooperatively toward shared goals and supporting others at all levels Requirements Analysis: ability to elicit, analyze and record required business and non‑functional requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project Producing Results: ability to achieve or exceed planned outcomes despite circumstances, and to utilize assigned resources and leverage back‑channel resources Top Candidates Will Have Degree in an accredited Electrical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science curriculum 8–10 years of experience in embedded software systems Extensive experience with electronic service tool development and wireless technologies Working knowledge of mobile and modern web software development practices Additional Details This position requires the candidate to work full‑time at the Mossville, IL office Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position Pay Range $128,470.00 – $192,710.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
