We have an immediate long-term opportunity with one of our prime clients for a position of Technical Product Owner to work on Remote basis.

Rate : $50/hr- $55/hr

Must Have Notes from Manager:

Exposure to Transcripts or Transcripts Lifecycle management. Anyone.
  • You should try to pull candidates from transcript companies like Parchment, National Student Clearinghouse, Scribbles, and Need My Transcript.
  • Other companies to pull candidates from could be product owners who have worked in the enrollment or registrar office IT function at major multi-site or online institutions like Western Governor's University, Southern New Hampshire University, ASU Online, Univ of Maryland Global Campus, or any number of others-- Adtalem competitors, basically. Western Governors just went through a similar automation project that looks quite good.
  • Experience with Transcript Lifecyles.
  • Must have experience from the Ed Tech (Education Technology) industry.
  • Must have recent experience with blended Waterfall and Agile environments
  • Bachelor's Degree is required.

Summary: The meeting focused on discussing the recruitment of a new Product Owner (TPO) for the transcript life cycle project.

Key Points:

Day-to-Day Responsibilities/Project Specifics:

  • The project aims to automate the transcript and its data throughout its entire life cycle, from the time it is requested and ordered to the point where its data is used for admissions and transfer of credit decisions.
  • The project is divided into four phases:
    • Automating the ordering of transcripts.
    • Data extraction from transcripts.
    • Evaluation of data for transfer of credit.
    • Self-service variant for prospects to upload their own data for an informal estimate of credit transfer and costs.
  • The new TPO will primarily focus on the fourth phase, which involves creating a self-service application for students and integrating systems on the backend.
  • The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including marketing, IT, and customer service departments.

Requirements (What to Look for on a Resume and in the Interview):

  • Experience in traditional SaaS product management, particularly with consumer-facing applications.
  • Exposure to customer experience, conversions, and business-to-consumer products.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management experience, capable of handling 6 to 10 stakeholders at a time.
  • Experience in higher education or Ed Tech, especially with transcript life cycles.
