🚀 Position Overview

We are seeking elite-level Technical Project Managers (TPM 4) to lead complex nuclear projects within a DOE Hazard Category 2 facility at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

This role is designed for professionals who have deep DOE project execution experience and can operate at a programmatic leadership level, managing scope from initiation through turnover while ensuring compliance with NNSA and DOE requirements.

You will be responsible for driving project execution, managing control accounts, and leading multidisciplinary teams across D&D, construction, testing, and turnover activities.

🎯 What We’re Targeting (Top Candidate Profile)

  • Proven DOE / NNSA Technical Project Manager
  • Strong experience managing capital projects under DOE O 413.3B
  • Background in D&D, construction, testing, and project turnover
  • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) / EVMS leader
  • Ability to operate in high-hazard CAT II nuclear environments

🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle execution of technical nuclear projects (initiation → turnover)
  • Define and manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and deliverables
  • Manage control accounts and work packages aligned to program objectives
  • Ensure compliance with DOE, NNSA, and Triad contract requirements
  • Drive EVMS execution, cost/schedule performance tracking, and reporting
  • Interface with engineering, construction, operations, and program leadership
  • Lead project teams and provide technical direction across disciplines
  • Support and participate in key DOE reviews:
  • Critical Decisions (CDs)
  • TIPR, ICE, EIR, APR reviews
  • Resolve complex technical, regulatory, and quality issues (NQA-1 environment)

✅ Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 12+ years of DOE nuclear project experience
  • Demonstrated experience:
  • Managing projects in DOE / NNSA CAT II nuclear facilities
  • Leading project execution across multiple phases (design → turnover)
  • Managing budgets, schedules, and technical scope at program level
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q Clearance

🔥 Highly Desired (Will Set You Apart)

  • EVMS / Control Account Manager (CAM) experience
  • Experience working under DOE O 413.3B (capital line item projects)
  • Participation in TIPR, ICE, EIR, APR, and CD processes
  • Experience in:
  • D&D (Decommissioning & Decontamination)
  • Construction & installation projects
  • Testing & turnover in nuclear facilities
  • Strong background in:
  • Work control & hazard management
  • Radiological operations & safety
  • NQA-1 quality programs & issues management
