Our client, a well-established firm based in Fairfield County, CT, is seeking a Technical Accounting Project Manager to lead key initiatives related to technical research, project oversight, and stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with senior staff, design and implement research or post-implementation review plans, and oversee their successful execution.
- Prepare and/or review detailed technical analyses that form the foundation for Board discussions and decision-making.
- Lead or support presentations at Board meetings, educational sessions, and engagements with stakeholder groups.
- Manage and mentor a team by assigning meaningful, growth-oriented work that aligns with project goals.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of governmental accounting, including conceptual frameworks and relevant standards (FASB, IPSASB, FASAB), and develop subject-matter expertise in assigned technical areas.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience including experience with GASB standards, in addition at least 5 years in one or more of the following areas: Public accounting, government financial management, accounting, or auditing. Accounting standards development, academic roles in accounting or financial management, research and analysis involving governmental financial statements.
