Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Technical Sales Specialist to join their team. The Sales Specialist will play a pivotal role in identifying customer needs, developing tailored solutions, and providing technical expertise throughout the sales process. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a blend of technical knowledge and strong communication skills, who enjoys working directly with customers to build relationships and close sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solution Development: Work closely with prospective customers to understand their technical needs and develop customized solutions utilizing our electronics products.
  • Sales and Business Development: Make outbound sales calls, present products and solutions to potential customers, and actively pursue new sales opportunities.
  • Product Specifications: Collaborate with internal teams to create clear and accurate product specifications that meet customer requirements.
  • Quotation Management: Prepare, issue, and follow up on quotations for customers. Provide pricing and lead time information as necessary.
  • Customer Support: Act as a technical support resource for customers, assisting them with product selection, troubleshooting, and general inquiries.
  • Newsletter Writing: Author monthly newsletters to keep customers informed about new products, updates, and other relevant company news.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with engineering, production, and marketing teams to ensure that customer requirements are met, and products are delivered on time.
  • Market Feedback: Relay customer feedback and market insights to internal teams to inform product development and improve offerings.

Qualifications:

  • 2 year Associates or 4 year Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of experience in sales or technical support, preferably in the electronics manufacturing industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electronics products and systems.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically about customer needs.
  • Desired proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), HTML, Adobe Creative Suite and CRM systems.
  • Ability to write clear, concise product documentation and newsletters.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience writing technical product specifications.
  • Familiarity with pricing and quoting processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with electronics products or systems design is a plus.
