Areas Covering: Glasgow & EdinburghSalary: £25,000 - £30,000SCG Together is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Technical Support Field Engineer to join our team. The role involves providing on-site technical support, installation, maintenance, and fault resolution across customer locations. The successful candidate will represent SCG professionally while delivering high-quality technical service.Responsibilities: Provide on-site technical support, diagnostics, and fault resolution for customer systems and equipmentInstall, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network infrastructure Respond to service requests and incidents Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently, escalating where necessary Carry out preventative maintenance and system health checks Accurately document work completed, including reports and service notes Maintain a high standard of customer service and communication Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures while working on-site Work independently in the field while collaborating with internal teamsSkills Essential: Previous experience in a technical support or field engineering role Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills Good knowledge of IT systems, hardware, and networking Ability to work independently and manage time effectivelyExcellent customer service and communication skills Strong organisational and documentation skills Full UK driving licenceDesirable:Experience with networking equipment such as routers, switches, and Wi-Fi Knowledge of telecoms, VoIP, broadband, or fibre services Relevant technical certifications or equivalent experience Experience working to SLAs and using ticketing systemsBenefits: 21 days holiday – increasing to 22 days after 3 years and to 25 days after 5 yearsExtra day off for your birthdayBuy holiday schemeEmployee Assistance ProgrammeFree onsite parkingEnhanced company sick payDiscounted retail vouchersReduced gym membershipAnnual salary reviewSCG mobile benefitEmployee referral bonus*Please note that unfortunately this role does not provide visa sponsorship opportunities, all candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
