Responsibilities Review and edit documentation for configurations management related to C2ISR Transport Infrastructure initiatives, ensuring they are technically accurate, clear, concise, and compliant with acquisition directives. Executes logistics strategies aligned with SCRM to ensure secure, efficient delivery of mission‑critical materials while mitigating supply chain risks. Ensure all documentation pertaining to acquired items (from initial sourcing to final delivery and integration) for PRDs is well‑organized, accurate, and clearly presented. Plans, designs, and leads the development of comprehensive technical and non‑technical forms, documentation, and references for high‑impact programs and processes. Functions as a lead collaborator with technical staff and customer representatives to define and document the specifications, design, features, and operation of critical technical processes and solutions, guiding the documentation strategy. Leads the writing and editing of all user manuals, help systems, and technical documents, setting standards for clarity and effectiveness. Oversees the design and formatting of documents, establishing best practices for using document‑creation software and ensuring visual consistency across major projects. Plans and conducts interviews with key developers and subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and depth of all information presented in major documentation efforts. Evaluates and refines audience assessment strategies, recommending major changes to writing approaches and content presentation to optimize user comprehension. Directs collaboration with graphic designers for the creation of complex and impactful visual aids, ensuring alignment with documentation goals. Shapes the transformation of highly complex information into easily digestible and user‑friendly content for broad audiences, evaluating its effectiveness. Establishes and enforces adherence to established style guides, quality standards, and regulatory requirements across the entire documentation suite, identifying and implementing process improvements. Manages the documentation lifecycle for critical projects, including advanced version control, archiving, and content management strategies. Develops and implements strategies to ensure consistency in messaging and terminology across all project deliverables and communications, impacting overall project success. Utilize the following Role Specific Tools: Documentation authoring platforms (MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare); style guide compliance checklists; configuration management databases (CMDB) with version control; SOP/QRC libraries for standardized documentation; lessons learned repositories for technical writing and O&M manuals; collaborative editing tools (SharePoint, Confluence, Google Docs); automated formatting and citation tools; digital training manual development suites; stakeholder communication dashboards for document review cycles; audit compliance checklists for FAR/DFARS documentation standards. Qualifications Required qualifications: Previous experience as a Technical Writer (Configuration Management) or similar role supporting a DoD customer at the CCMD level. Minimum of 8 years' experience with a BS/BA or 6 years' experience with a MS/MA or 4 years' experience with a PhD. or 12 years' w/o a degree or 10 years' with AS/AA degree. A current, active DoD security clearance at the TS/SCI level. US citizenship is required. Desired Qualifications: DoD‑approved IA baseline certification for ADP‑III/IT‑III based on the IAT level and CE/Operating System (OS) certificate within six months of the assignment. Work Environment Location: Pope Army Airfield, NC. On‑site expectations: Full‑time on‑site presence required for equipment management and asset tracking. Travel: May require occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites for logistics coordination and facility assessments.
