REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

- BA/BS degree required \n
- 5 years of experience required \n
- Ability to complete and pass a Public Trust Security Investigation (US Citizenship required for all applicants) \n
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

- Must have the ability to establish and maintain professional, positive relationships with a wide variety of customers, including senior executives, engineers, technicians, managers, and administrative staff. \n
- 2 years of experience using QuickSilver software in processing and preparing technical documentation \n
- 2 years of experience with Adobe Communique (CQ5) Software \n
- Must be able to write in a wide variety of formats, styles, and "voices." \n
- Able to apply advanced concepts and strategies when writing and editing. \n
- Able to produce high quality work under tight and sometimes shifting deadlines. \n
- Able to grasp and communicate highly technical information without a background in that area. \n
- Must be comfortable asking questions of technical experts. \n
- Must have a disciplined work ethic and the ability to prioritize and juggle projects. \n
- Excellent time management and organizational skills. \n
- Must enjoy working collaboratively within a small team of communications professionals. \n
- Proficient in the use of the MS Office Suite (Word professional documentation styles, features and production, Excel, PowerPoint. \n
- Must have strong oral communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. \n
- Experience working with federally mandated "plain language" a plus. \n
RESPONSIBILITIES

- Reviews, and revises documents to conform to existing style guidelines and industry best practices for regulatory documents, manuals, instructions, and technical orders. \n
- Edits, standardizes, and revises material prepared by FAA staff members, organizing and formatting content for clarity, flow, and readability. \n
- Meet with and receive guidance/technical direction from Subject Matter Experts, and produce an original written draft based on those discussions, to be reviewed, refined and finalized. \n
- May be asked to prepare, edit, or revise reports, correspondence, briefing, or other documentation. \n
- Ensures clarity and grammatical correctness of all written materials through attention to detail and the application of recognized editorial techniques. \n
- Edits and maintains a listing of technical documents, their key data, and their revision schedule \n
- Writes original content in the form of articles, columns, talking points, etc. by gathering and assessing information from a wide variety of sources. \n
- Prepares, edits, or revises reports, correspondences, briefings, and other documentation. \n
- Must be able to write in a wide variety of formats, styles, and "voices." \n
- Able to apply advanced concepts and strategies when writing and editing. \n
- Experience working with Federally-mandated "plain language" a plus. \n
- Experience using InDesign a plus. \n
- Helps develop graphic concepts for communicating key messages. \n
- Tracks and reports progress of various projects. \n
- Provides ad hoc support to FAA customer by taking meeting notes, conducting research and analysis, conducting fact-checks, gathering information, etc. \n
