JOB TITLE: Technical Writer - Aircraft Maintenance
LOCATION: Truth or Consequences, NM (Spaceport America), Las Cruces, NM, Mojave, CA, or possibly remote
PAY RATE: $40.00 - $55.00 per hour

Summary:
-
Support the development, production, authoring, review, submittal, release, and control of operational Maintenance Task Cards.
-
Collaborate with technical design engineers, project engineers, program managers, and subject-matter experts to ensure accurate information for writing maintenance documents.

Use existing technical and procedural documentation to create efficient aircraft maintenance procedural task cards.

Work with maintenance planners to maximize task card organization and effectiveness.
-
Facilitate safety, quality, engineering, and maintenance validation of task cards for technical accuracy.

Collaborate with flight maintenance, ground maintenance, quality, vehicle programs, and operations engineering teams to implement changes to released task cards.

Address documentation deficiencies during task card usage.

Perform on-site documentation as required.

Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Operations Management.
Required Skills:
-
Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field or equivalent aerospace operations experience.

Ability to travel up to 20% as needed.

Strong proficiency in preparing technical data, product support, logistics data, and technical documents.

In-depth knowledge of aerospace industry standards and specifications.

Excellent writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with strong ownership and follow-through.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.
-
Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR (22 CFR 120.15).
Desired Skills:
-
FAA Airframe & Powerplant certification preferred.
-
At least three years' experience in a Title 14, Part 121 or 135 air carrier, or MRO environment.

Experience converting aircraft technical design data and blueprints into aircraft maintenance task cards.
-
Previous experience in aviation maintenance operations is highly desirable.

Professional experience in the aviation/aerospace industry.
