Organization Unit: Molecular Devices Tax Work Location: Downingtown, PA Hybrid opportunity: 2-3 days onsite Shift: Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm Pay Rate: 46.66/hr. We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer who is proficient in the MadCap Flare authoring tool and familiar with microscopy processes. The writer will collaborate with the writing team, software developers, engineers, product managers, testers, and technical support staff to produce and maintain instrument and online software documentation. Key Responsibilities: Write and update content to support installation, usage, and maintenance of our life sciences laboratory instruments and software. Create single-source content using the MadCap Flare authoring tool to produce deliverables in various print and online formats, including HTML5, CHM, and PDF. Adhere to file version control policies to ensure appropriate back-up and archival of drafts in progress and published documentation as well as associated edits and approvals. Proactively gather documentation requirements from project teams and stakeholders. Attend Team Meetings and Standups to represent documentation, report progress, and gather information. Seek and incorporate feedback on drafts. Attend product training sessions as needed. Manage and prioritize work for assigned writing projects to ensure on-time delivery of documentation. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications or a related discipline, or a combination of a Bachelor's degree in science and writing experience. At least 3 years of experience as a technical writer creating content for hardware and software products, preferably in the life sciences industry. Proficient in MadCap Flare or similar single-source authoring tool. Experience with the following is a plus: Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Illustrator, PhotoShop), SolidWorks, Bitbucket/SourceTree, FrameMaker. Excellent writing, editing, and communications skills; strong attention to detail. Solid interpersonal and organizational skills.
