Technical Writer
Location: Atlanta, GA- On-site M, T, Th with flexibility on working hours (core 9am-3pm)
Job Type: Long Term contract
This very much needs to be a infrastructure (firewalls, networking, etc.) type of Technical Writer. SDLC and software/hardware knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation Creation:
- Develop technical documentation, including user manuals, procedures, and guides, for internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information and ensure accuracy.
Compliance Documentation:
- Assist in creating and maintaining documentation required for regulatory compliance in the energy and transportation industry.
- Ensure documentation aligns with industry standards and best practices.
Process Documentation:
- Waterfall and agile, including: Roadmaps (Strategy, Technology, Release), Metrics, Standards, Administrator Support (Installation Guides, Configuration Manuals, Maintenance Procedures (including backup and restoration processes), Security Protocols (guidelines on security measures, such as firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls), Troubleshooting Guides, Disaster recovery plans
Product Documentation:
- Requirements (Functional and Nonfunctional), UX Documentation, Architecture Design Document/Diagrams, Testing Documentation
Quality Assurance:
- Perform quality checks on documentation to maintain consistency, clarity, and adherence to company standards.Validate that documentation meets user needs and addresses common inquiries.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and regulatory experts.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather information and ensure documentation meets project goals.
Knowledge Sharing:
- Foster a culture of knowledge sharing by facilitating the dissemination of technical information within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing or Engineering
- Proven experience as a technical writer, with a strong portfolio of technical documentation.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise content.
- Familiarity with documentation tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat).
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality documentation.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
