We have an opening for a full-time, permanent Technical Writer to join our talented, dynamic team in support of a large Federal Government customer.

The Technical Writer will support the Department of Veterans Affairs by providing technical and programmatic support services to include development, maintenance, enterprise architecture, and administrative engineering support.  

Duties

As a Technical Writer supporting Maveris programs, you will be trusted to lead the delivery of a Federal Agency’s Enterprise Security Architecture and Strategy. In this role, a typical day will include: 

  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including user manuals, reports, deliverables, release notes, briefings, and knowledge base articles. 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation. 
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible language for both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Organize and structure documentation to ensure logical flow and ease of use. 
  • Edit and proofread documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to company style guides. 
  • Develop and implement documentation standards and best practices to ensure high-quality content. 
  • Work with design and development teams to understand new features and changes, and update documentation accordingly. 
  • Use feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously improve documentation and address any issues or gaps. 
  • Create templates to be utilized across the organization for deliverables.  

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information System Architecture, Telecommunication System, Design or related discipline
  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Proficient in documentation tools and software such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Markdown, and documentation platforms like Confluence or SharePoint
  • Ability to understand and convey complex technical concepts to a diverse audience
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams
  • Government IT experience is desired
