Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting for a Technical Writer in Piketon, OH.

This position is onsite and is scheduler for one year. The Technical Writer will support a nuclear safety project.
Under general supervision, performs publication and technical writing job functions as assigned by management. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities that assist and support management in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Prepare procedures, program description documents, program requirement documents, plans, policies, and guides.
- Edit, standardize, and update material prepared by other writers or establishment personnel
- Confer with Functional Area Managers and Subject Matter Experts to establish Functional Area
- Managers and Subject Matter Experts to establish subject matter to be developed by publication
- Recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content and methods of reproduction and binding
- Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and define procedures, sequence, and detail
- Analyze developments in specific field; evaluate need to revise previously developed documentation
- May provide work leadership for less experienced technical writers
- Perform writing duties moderate to complex in nature according to established standards and formats.
- Perform duties moderate to complex in nature
- Other job related duties as assigned
- Maintains knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform work safely in accordance with all approved safety policies, procedures and applicable regulations and performs assigned duties in a safe manner
- All necessary training and Required Readings are completed within 60 days
- Actively participates in Safety Work Groups
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in a related field and 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Typical experience ranges from 3 - 5 years.
- Master level PC skills to include Microsoft software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent writing, spelling and grammar skills
- Experience working on projects which require adherence to environmental (NEPA, RCRA, CERCLA) and/or nuclear (DOE, NRC) regulations.
- Experience supporting a nuclear safety project desired.
- DOE “L” clearance or ability to obtain a DOE “L” clearance
