Job Description
TTA is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support an ERP update project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, instructional design experience, and the ability to create clear, step-by-step training materials and job aids. This role requires someone who can collaborate with SMEs, observe and analyze workflows, and translate procedures into user-friendly documentation.
Key Responsibilities
• Interview SMEs and observe physical work for job/task analysis.
• Create step-by-step tutorials, job aids, and training materials.
• Read and interpret existing documentation and procedures.
• Redline and update procedures based on outlines and observations.
• Support the development of training content related to ERP systems.
• Use Microsoft Office tools and Teams to document and communicate effectively.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accuracy and usability of materials.
Qualifications & Skills
Must-Haves:
• Proven experience as a Technical Writer, with experience creating job aids and training materials.
• Ability to conduct job/task analyses and interview SMEs effectively.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Teams for documentation and collaboration.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter capable of working independently while collaborating with teams.
• Instructional design experience or comfort with training development.
Nice-to-Haves:
• Experience supporting ERP or similar enterprise system implementations.
• Ability to work on-site multiple days per week if needed.
• Familiarity with reviewing and redlining procedures and documentation.
Details
• Engagement type: Agile talent, up to 40 hours per week.
• Rate: $46/hour.
• Start timeframe: Mid-February (flexible if needed).
• Duration: Through the end of the year.
• Audience: Employees using the ERP system.
• Location: Story City, IA or Columbus, WS; primarily on-site preferred, virtual option available if necessary.
• Background check may be requested.
