Position Overview

Do you enjoy tearing down engines, rebuilding parts, and solving mechanical problems? Whether youre passionate about race cars, small engines, or anything with a motor, we want to meet you. Were seeking a dependable and skilled Outdoor Power Equipment Technician to join our team.

This position involves diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a variety of outdoor power equipment such as zero-turn mowers, push mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, generators, and more. Were looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, detail-focused, and committed to delivering excellent workmanship and customer care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and fuel components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, belt and filter replacements, blade sharpening, and tune-ups.
  • Identify issues accurately and recommend proper repairs.
  • Document work performed, parts used, and labor time on service tickets.
  • Communicate repair updates, timelines, and recommendations with service writers or customers.
  • Test all equipment to verify proper operation before final delivery.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in small engine or mechanical repair is preferred (training available for the right individual).
  • Working knowledge of outdoor power equipment, 2-cycle/4-cycle engines, and basic electrical systems.
  • Ability to interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical understanding.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and handle physically demanding tasks.

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Familiarity with Hustler, Exmark ,Scag, Grasshopper, STIHL, Echo, Kawasaki, Kohler, Briggs, etc.
  • Welding or basic fabrication ability.
  • Understanding of hydraulic systems.
  • Prior dealership or shop experience.

Schedule & Pay

  • Full-time role
  • Competitive pay based on experience (hourly + commission)
  • MondayFriday schedule (with occasional Saturdays during the busy season)
