What you'll do:

Reporting to the Plant Supervisors, Divert’s Assistant Technicians play a pivotal role in the food analysis and recovery process as they execute on various prep, cleaning, light maintenance and other activities.

Divert’s Longview, WA facility receives unsold food from clients, analyzes the content, separates the packaging from the organics that can then be digested, ultimately processing the mixed liquor through our anaerobic digestion tank. The end result is renewable natural gas (RNG) tied into a local NG pipeline

Shifts Available:

  • Days: 2/2/3, 6 am to 6:30 pm
  • Nights: 2/2/3, 6 pm to 6:30 am

This position is a safety-sensitive position and requires a clear mind and diligence. The employee has the responsibility for his/her safety as well as the safety of others.

Responsibilities

  • Operates a forklift to unload trucks and load unsold food into the processing equipment

  • General operation of plant equipment through HMIs

  • Monitoring KPIs of the processing equipment through observation and the HMI

  • Completion of Preventative Maintenance activities and some maintenance activities and records entries into the computerized maintenance tracking system

  • Tracks and records machine uptimes and overall performance against targets

  • Actively participates in shift handoff meetings and daily planning meetings as instructed

  • Escalates any concerns regarding equipment and/or processes to Lead Technician and management in real time

  • Wear proper PPE for duties assigned.

  • Completes necessary duties for gas monitoring as designed and reports deficiencies immediately to the proper escalation tree.

  • Additional duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential functions for this position and meet the physical requirements needed to perform them, including but not limited to frequently require the ability to drive a forklift, sit; hear or talk: use close vision; use hands to grasp, handle or feel objects; and type and manipulate controls. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities. While performing the essential functions of this job, the associate:

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry up to 50 lbs frequently
  • Must be able to bend, stand, walk, sit, kneel frequently
  • Is comfortable operating equipment and repetitive tasks throughout their shift
  • Is able to handle potential changes in temperature on site, humidity and wetness in working areas

What we're looking for:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience preferred
  • Experience working in a manufacturing/production environment preferred
  • 6-12 months maintenance, industrial maintenance, or auto mechanic experience preferred
  • Experience operating pressure washers and forklifts preferred
  • Basic computer proficiency and mathematical skills
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication in English (preferred)
  • Willing to work overtime
