Position Description: Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. You will perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires. Test-drive trucks to ensure that they run smoothly.
Key responsibilities:
\tRunning diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions
\tPerform preventative maintenance inspections and services on commercial vehicles
\tTroubleshoot and repair a wide range of mechanical and electrical problems.
\tMaintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed.
\tOrder and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
\tInspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts
\tRepairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines and other associated parts
\tConducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
\tTest driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance
\tCompleting oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment and brake checks
\tMaintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles
Qualifications:
\tAdvanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel engine
\tIn-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
\tSuperior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
\tComfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
\tExcellent problem-solving skills
\tProficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
\tA valid drivers license
\tEffective collaboration and communication skills
$40,000.00 - $60,000.00 Hourly
