Technician Way Radio Microwave Network Transport Apply
Sierra ITS has partnered with a Wheaton, IL based public safety communications center to identify and hire a Technician I whose mission is to assist in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of systems including two-way radio, telephone, microwave, network transport, control, power, alarm, and others. You'll provide hands-on support on all systems at the communication center and radio sites throughout DuPage County. You'll determine the extent of problems and address them in-house or escalate to a vendor.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 08:00 AM 4:30 PM and required on-call (after training) one week, every 3-4 weeks, and be flexible to occasionally accommodate the needs of a 24/7 organization and its employees.
Desired Skills/Experience:
- 3 5+ years of experience in radio/microwave/telephone technical position
- Two-way radio communication including antennas, microwave and multiplex systems.
- Solid-state electronics, the operational design of circuits, and electronic testing equipment.
- FCC General Class Radio Telephone License (GROL)
- Amateur Radio Extra class license
- Previous experience in a public safety environment
Compensation: This is a full time, permanent position with salary (~90k), great benefits, and a PENSION.
