Position Summary:

This recruitment is for a Temporary Front Desk HR Representative position through UCI's internal temporary staffing service and is located at the UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Greet visitors as they arrive to the suite.

Answer HR-related questions via phone and/or email.

Pick up and distribute mail.

Assist with answering emails/inbox maintenance.

Assist with LiveScan when needed.

Compensation Range:

$29.26/hour

Required:

Administrative experience working in a front office environment greeting office visitors, answering multiple phone lines and juggling multiple priorities.

Experience inputting information into a database

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Working knowledge of organizational policies and procedures; knowledge of functional area and understands how work may impact other areas. Working knowledge of the recruitment, screening, interviewing and referral processes.

Knowledge of HR processes and forms and knows organizational and departmental principles and procedures.

Knowledge of common software used within a professional business setting, such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and enterprise databases or systems.

Basic knowledge of employment law.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills as well as active listening and critical thinking skills.

Demonstrated abilities associated with problem identification; reasoning; ability to work with business units in the development of ideas to solve staffing issues. Demonstrated analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations.

Strong oral, and written communication skills to impart information accurately and clearly.

Strong customer service skills.

Ability to appropriately handle work assignments often involving highly confidential information.

Ability to diffuse potentially volatile situation.

Preferred:

Working knowledge of US and California employment law.

Working knowledge of UC policies and UCI procedures.

Experience in utilizing a case management system.

TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT

This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements. Certain temporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver's License for driving university vehicles.

The majority of our temporary positions are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment. Comprehensive benefits options are also available for temporary employees, including paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave.
