The Field Technician is responsible for installing, supporting, configuring and monitoring computer networks and systems to identify how performance can be improved and when updates are needed. Also responsible for keeping the organization's computer network up-to-date and addressing any issues that may arise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

  • Coordinate and connect various different systems and ensure that they are working properly.
  • Prepare users by designing and conducting training programs.
  • Provide references and support.
  • Upgrade network by conferring with vendors.
  • Develop, test, evaluate, and install enhancements.
  • Work closely with departmental managers to determine future network needs and plan for network changes.
  • Develop methods and tools to be used to test and implement new LAN/WAN equipment.
  • Engage in regular network troubleshooting activities and resolve network connectivity issues.
  • Analyze the current computer network structure and submit quarterly comprehensive reports to executive team on how to make the network more efficient.
  • Other duties which may arise from time-to-time and/or are commensurate with the title and position.

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 1+ years' successful network troubleshooting experience
  • Experience managing a network.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
