JOB TITLE: Temporary Lecturer, Software Development JOB PURPOSE: The School of Computing at the University of Wyoming seeks qualified applicants for a temporary, non-tenure-track Lecturer position in the Applied Software Development (SDEV) program. This appointment is course-by-course and may involve teaching one or two undergraduate Software Development courses during a given semester. Courses may be delivered in face-to-face, hybrid, or online modalities, depending on program needs. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong potential for effective undergraduate teaching, practical knowledge of modern software development practices, and the ability to support students in applied, project-based learning environments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach undergraduate Software Development courses Prepare and deliver lectures, labs, and assignments aligned with approved syllabi Assess student learning and provide timely feedback Hold regular office hours and communicate effectively with students Use WyoCourses and approved instructional technologies Maintain an inclusive, professional learning environment Adhere to university policies related to academic integrity and accessibility MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related field Demonstrated knowledge of software development principles Ability to teach undergraduate technical content effectively DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working as a software developer in industry Prior college-level teaching experience Professional experience in software development or related fields Familiarity with modern programming languages, testing tools, version control, and agile workflows Experience teaching online or hybrid courses Commitment to inclusive teaching practices REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS: Curriculum vitae Cover letter addressing interest and qualifications Contact information for at least two professional references WORK LOCATION: Remote/Flexible Work: This position is eligible for remote work and/or a flexible work schedule.
