This is a pool from which the College of Engineering (CoEng), College of Business and Public Policy (CBPP), Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER), Community Technical College (CTC), Business Enterprise Institute (BEI), and the School of Education (SoEd) will draw upon when research technicians are needed to work on sponsored projects. These units conduct applied and fundamental scientific research which may include analyzing and interpreting quantitative or qualitative data as well as communicating research findings. Knowledge of research methods and analytical procedures. Ability to use computerized tools to organize and analyze information and communicate findings. Knowledge of standard reporting procedures. Skilled in accurate data collection methods. Research Professional Levels Research Professional 1: Six months' experience in relevant field, or acceptable combination of education and experience. Research Professional 2: One year's experience in relevant field, or acceptable combination of education and experience. Research Professional 3: Two years' postgraduate level experience in relevant field, or acceptable combination of education and experience. Research Professional 4: Four years' postgraduate level experience in relevant field, or acceptable combination of education and experience. Research Professional 5: Four years' postgraduate level experience in relevant field, or acceptable combination of education and experience. Minimum Qualifications Research Professional 1: Bachelor's degree and six months' experience in a field relevant to the research (e.g., science, math, business), or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Research Professional 2: Bachelor's degree and one year's experience in a field relevant to the research (e.g., science, math, business), or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Research Professional 3: Master's degree and two years' postgraduate level experience in a field relevant to the research (e.g., science, math, business), or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Research Professional 4: Master's degree and four years' experience at postgraduate level in a field relevant to the research (e.g., science, math, business), or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Research Professional 5: PhD and four years' postgraduate level experience in a field relevant to the research (e.g., science, math, business), or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Position Details This is a part-time or full-time, non-exempt temporary position. New hires will be placed on the Temporary Salary Table and the Grade is determined based on education and experience. This is a pooled position and applications are reviewed as needed.
