Term Lecturer - Developer/Instructor for Principles of Vestibular Function Course

Summary:

This position is for development and instruction of a 3-credit course within the AuD program at the IHP. The course is the first of a two-course sequence in vestibular training entitled: Principles of Vestibular Function and Balance Disorders. While in-person instruction is preferable, real-time online instruction will be considered.

The ideal candidate should be well-versed in the content of vestibular coursework that aims to prepare AuD students for clinical practice. Previous teaching experience is desirable. The ideal candidate should be dedicated to student engagement through in-person or remote learning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with AuD program director, faculty, and instructional design team.
  • Develop a course syllabus including course description, objectives, policies, grading practices, and schedule of topics/assignments.
  • Identify a textbook and/or readings.
  • Develop lecture materials including instructional materials, assignments, and assessments.

Responsibilities for course instruction include:

  • Weekly classroom instruction in-person or online via Zoom.
  • Grading/feedback of student assignments and general course management via the D2L Brightspace Learning Management System.
  • Collaboration with institute resources to ensure course content maximizes learner engagement and reflects the values of the IHP.

Start Date: This course begins in summer 2024 (May 13 August 19).

  • Development for the course can begin as soon as a candidate is hired.
  • While we will re-evaluate mutual partnerships between instructors and the program each semester, the ideal candidate will be interested in an in-person, multiple-semester commitment.


Required:

  • Doctoral degree in audiology (AuD) or hearing science (PhD).
  • Previous graduate-level teaching experience in-person or online as well as clinical experience with vestibular assessment in a clinical setting.

Pay

  • Anticipated pay is $2300/credit.
